I want to write an educational post about the history of the Red Cross and what they do, but I don't have time today because, ironically, I'm busy volunteering at the reception desk at the local Red Cross chapter. Then I have to rush home and make supper before rushing off to water aerobics. It will be 10:00 tonight before I have time to do anything much online.
In the course of a little research... okay I was just messing around... I found some cool old video clips. Here's one from New York City in 1901. I think it stars Marilyn Monroe's grandmother. I'm pretty sure.

Worth the wait. Nice ankles.
LOL! That was cute!
Haha! I like how all the men stare after her!
That was awesome! (And just as scandalous as MM's shoot!)
Whoosh!
did you ever try dunking a potato chip in champagne? It's real crazy!
The resemblance was uncanny.
That's really cool!
I kept wondering "what the hell?" Worth watching the whole video...excellent job!
LOL I'll bet you're right!!!
Anything that has a woman's skirt being blown up by the wind is worth a rec!
Does she know how to make mimosas?
I'm surprixsed she wasn't picked up for indecent exposure.
Hope all went well tonight!
thats cute!
I could not ignore that title, with a bonus film strip! The camera man was just waiting for something like that to happen.
Hehe! Amazing what you can find online!
Whoohoo, saw a flash of ankle there! Hussy! ;p
Yep, that has got to be her grandmother. rofl
I love it!!
What's even more interesting to think about is NO ONE.... not one person on the street that day... probably had any idea what the man behind the camera was actually doing. If this was from 1901... well... movies weren't what they were today and probably one in 1000 people had seen one. Thus everyone is oblivious as to the camera.
I say that to stress this.
Everyone is acting NORMAL. No one is hamming it up for the camera... cause no one would have known they were being filmed. It really is a shot of everyday life in the big city. When carriages were drawn by horses, women wore SENSIBLE clothing and all the men wore hats.
why hats?
