I try to make peanut brittle. Try being the key word here.
Aw, what a little cutie! You're so thoughtful, I bet they'll love and appreciate it.
Those oatmeal cookies look inviting! I pray the little one will have a smooth surgery :)
Wow, it would almost be worth having surgery to get that stuff...hummm...when can I schedule some surgery?
@icapillas - Thank you! Her surgery was this morning and it went so smoothly they already sent her home.
I don't like that sight, seeing little girls on a hospital bed. We have enough of that with our youngest all her life
@UnworthyofHisgrace - Yeah, this one got off to a rough start in life. Today's surgery was to remove a couple of cysts in her throat. It went so well they released her this afternoon and she's back home now.
@saintvi - Oh, I'm soo glad to know that!! Hurray for the little girl and the parents!! Now everybody can sit back, relax & enjoy your cookies!!!
@saintvi - Thats great, My youngest...that I hope to do an update post on for the 17th which is 3 years after her accident where she lost her right leg, at 2 had a large cyst on her neck that had to be removed. She still has a scare from it. Then other surgeries on her leg mainly because of the disease she has in it. That is SUCH an aweful feeling to see a little one put under for surgery, when they come out of it they look so pitiful like "where am I"
I'm so glad everything went well with her. She is a cutie. All your goodies look great!
Your house is definitely the place to be when someone you love is having surgery it sounds like.
Heh, I bake whenever I'm stressed too. I'm glad the little one is doing well! She's adorable. And now I'm hungry...
Oh my god!
So glad everything turned out well and she is home!
I'm glad everything went so well!
More like a very *awesome* grandmother!
Who doesn't love cookies?? Honestly!!
Glad that everything went well with the surgery!
and boy do I wish I was your neighbor!!! That all looks so great!
Do you share your Apricot Oatmeal cookie recipe?
@lupus_lady - Sure I'll share! It's from a Hershey's "Easy Baking" cookbook. Here you go:
White Chip Apricot Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients:
3/4 c. margarine, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
2-1/2 c. oatmeal
1 ten oz. pkg. white chips
3/4 c. chopped dried apricots
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Beat margarine, sugar and brown sugar in large bowl until fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Add flour and baking soda; beat until well blended. Stir in oats, white chips and apricots. Loosely form rounded teaspoonfuls dough into balls; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 7 to 9 minutes or just until lightly browned; do not overbake. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
She is adorable. Glad the surgery went ok.
Thanks! Now I just need to get to the store! Do you chop your apricots into sugar?
