I did absolutely nothing yesterday. I didn't unpack, I didn't start the laundry, I didn't do the grocery shopping. Today will be spent paying for yesterday's laziness. At least the sun is shining today; it makes it easier to get out and run errands. It was gloomy and snowy yesterday. I think that's why I couldn't bear to unpack the capris, tee-shirts and sandals I was wearing last week.
One errand I need to run today is to buy myself a new pair of jeans. My oldest and most comfortable jeans are completely disreputable now. It may have something to do with me wearing them for two days straight on the drive down to Arkansas. By the time I got there, the little holes and tears were big holes and gaping rips. I'm glad I had a long-tailed shirt to wear that last day on the road or the whole world would have known I was wearing neon blue underwear and my mom would never recover from the shame.
I also need to find a birthday card for a certain daughter of mine who turns 24 on Thursday. Perhaps I'll repost the final chapter of Adventures in Parenting on her birthday. The series was originally posted as a birthday gift to her. I'm sure she'd rather have something more in the monetary tradition this year, though.
It's nearly 10 AM and I'm still in my pjs and robe, unshowered, procrastinating the start of a day that I know will be long and tiring. I really should get moving.
Okay, I'm going now....

(Bounces up and down) I'm so glad you're home! Have fun shopping for jeans!
Hey! As long as you wore panties, and that they were clean, Mom would be proud! LOL
From the sounds of things, you needed the rest, hon. Don't beat yourself up just cause the chores waited - darned chores! (wink)
encouragingly

I recommend Navy Blue underwear.
Just a thought.
mornin glorie...I thought a day of rest after a long road trip was mandatory
if your anything like me it takes that long for the road dots to stop coming after you! My condolences on your jeans you should sell them on ebay or something - now go get a shower - then you'll rest better....glad you had a safe trip
We all need lazy days now & then. Glad ya got some rest. Hope today flies by for ya without bein too tiring.
Take Care.
You sound like me after a long trip...or a short one. lol
i had a day like this last week.
i blame it on the 3,500 lbs of mulch i had moved three days previous.
you can blame it on the strained parts of your trip.
hope you're showered now. i would hate for your posts to start stinking.
;p
How does telling the world about it on your blog lessen your Mom's shame?
I look forward to that final chapter of adventures. I am pretty sure that your daughter would prefer a monetary gift this year.
I am so glad that you took a day for yourself! Are you feeling any better after a day of rest?
I wish you good luck on your jeans shopping, finding just the right ones can be tough!!! I think if I had a pair like you described I would find a cute patch and put it over the hole that brings you shame. Then go on wearing them!!!
I hope today is a good day for you!!!
glad you are home safe and sound. Rest, take your time...those chores will get done when they get done! I can relate with the jeans. I tore a hole in my favorite jeans yesterday and realized the material is so old and fragile that it was a very good thing I was not wearing them in public. They will be so missed.
You breathed.
I'm so glad you're safely back home....and your mom is better.
Bless Bret's heart for the sweet flowers!
OH!!! Use those worn out jeans to make one of those adorable purses that I see everywhere....might as well give them a new life!!
And don't feel badly about being in your pj's at 10 am....this past Saturday I was STILL in my pjs' when it was time to go back to bed!!! lol
Welcome Home
Ruth Ann
